Teaching Student-Centered Mathematics, K-3, 3-5, 5-8, Van de Walle and Lovin (2006)
This series of books looks at the development of mathematical thinking and included hundreds of activities for developing mathematical proficiency.
How the Brain Learns Mathematics, Sousa (2008)
Comprehending Math, Arthur Hyde (2006)
For those of you familiar with Reading Power, author Arthur Hyde does a very good job of linking those comprehension strategies to math.
The Art and Science of Teaching, Robert Marzano (2007)
This is a good read. Marzano stresses that teaching is part science (the pedagogy of effective teaching) and part art (the intuition of effective teaching).
