A Message from Principal Bruce Bidney
At the end of this week we will be conducting a School Climate Survey with the students of MSS. The survey is designed to listen to what our children are saying about
their school and how we can respond with programs and services.
The goal will be to make student safety and well-being a continued priority here at MSS. I also want parents to know that we are listening and your feedback is always welcome. In December our goal is to conduct a community forum at MSS where all stakeholders will be invited to come to the table.
It truly does take a village to raise a child and I believe that we all
need to work as team to ensure success for all our learners.
We believe that parents and teachers are a critical part of the solution to online harm. Parenting today is challenging with children and youth involved in online technologies at earlier and earlier ages. While quick adopters of new technologies, youth are still amateur users without guidance of their elders.
In an effort to provide our students with access to learning and collaboration, School District No. 58 (Nicola-Similkameen) is working with Microsoft to provide our students Office 365 software. This program provides an online space where students will be able to create documents, manage email, and use an online calendar (among other features). Download, sign and return the forms to M. Ollek for Office 365 access.
