We love experiments!
One of the main goals of my language learning program this year is to extend students' abilities to explore, construct, and communicate meaning.
Students have recently finished reading their Hatchet novel and assignments. We are currently working with Adrienne Gear's Language Power; we are working through inferring and transforming.
I am pleased to see that students are becoming proficient at adding and subtracting fractions in Math.
In Social Studies students are learning about Ancient Greece. The class is working on Ancient Greek Comic Strips, using the Comic Life program on their laptops to show an aspect of Ancient Egyptian daily life. The students have also been working in cooperative groups to create a mural on the Ancient Greek City States.
Grade seven students have received their personal laptop computers. They are using them on a daily basis to access information, organize their ideas (ex: developing webs using Inspiration), and present their learning in a technical format with graphics.
